Chinese glass fibre producer touts USD 250m investment plans / Chopped glass fibres for Europe

During the recent "JEC" fair (www.jeccomposites.com), Chinese glass fibre producer Jushi (Tongxiang City, Zhejiang; www.jushi.com) provided further details on its capacity expansion plans in Egypt and the US. The two new furnaces in Egypt are due to start up in early 2016 and 2017, earlier than expected. A lot of the volumes produced at this facility are earmarked for export to Europe. Jushi also announced that its US plant will be located in Richland, South Carolina. The 80,000 t/y facility is due to start up in early 2017. Jushi's overall capacity comes to 1.05m t/y, making it the world's largest producer.
