World's largest MDI producer commissions new line at China headquarters / Smaller old facility shuttered

In line with earlier plans, Wanhua Industrial Group (Yantai, Shandong / China; www.wanhuagroup.com) at the end of October commissioned a new large-scale MDI plant at group headquarters. According to PIE's Polyglobe capacity database (www.polyglobe.net), the plant has nameplate capacity for 600,000 t/y of the PU feedstock. The facility will gradually ramp up output in the coming weeks, the company said, adding that following the start-up of the new plant, it has shuttered one of its older, 200,000 t/y MDI lines at the site.
