Force majeure for certain 'Purell' PE grades from Wesseling / Expanding site's butadiene output

An explosion rocked LyondellBasell's (Rotterdam / The Netherlands; www.lyondellbasell.com) 430,000 t/y LDPE line in Wesseling / Germany on the morning of 21 January 2012, lightly injuring seven workers. The Dutch chemicals giant subsequently shut down the facility. In the wake of the blast, the group on 24 January declared force majeure for "Purell" PE 3020D and "Purell" PE 3220D grades from the site.
