The Environmental Protection Agency May 16 announced it is finalizing a decision to list the chemical n-propyl bromide as an acceptable substitute under the Clean Air Act for ozone-depleting chemicals in certain industries that use the solvents as cleaners for metal parts,electronics,and precision instruments.At the same time,the agency proposed to prohibit the use of the substance as an aerosol solvent and adhesive carrier solvent.
