In February 2009, no one in the German; plastics industry would have dreamt that the economic good times would return so soon. So Reinhard Proske, then-president of the German plastics processing industry association Gesamtverband Kunststoffverarbeitende Industrie (GKV, Bad Homburg; www.gkv.de), can be forgiven for predicting at the association's annual press conference that it would "take years" for sales and production levels to rebound to pre-crisis levels. Two years later, results of the latest "KI Dialogue", the semiannual readership survey conducted by PIE's sister publication Kunststoff Information (KI, Bad Homburg / Germany; www.kiweb.de), shows clearly that the industry has mastered the crisis and made a near full recovery.
