New structure after completion of Alcan purchase / EU gives thumbs up / Seven new business units

Amcor (Abbotsford / Australia; www.amcor.com) has announced its new organisational structure as it prepares to complete its USD 2 bn purchase of Alcan Packaging (Paris / France; www.alcanpackaging.com). The European Commission has given thumbs up for the deal, provided Amcor divest certain assets in Spain of subsidiary Amcor Flexibles. When the transaction is completed, the merged packaging giant will comprise seven business groups.
