PS plant at Carrington to close in October/ Overcapacity I Cost reduction scheme

Pointing to significant overcapacity in the company's PS business,Nova Innovene(Fribourg / Switzerland;www.nova innovene.com)said it will close its 180,000 t/y solid polystyrene facility at Carrington / UK in October 2006.Some 82 jobs are at stake.According to PS business director Pierre Minguet,the company is"actively reviewing"its PS portfolio and expects to be able to provide equivalent grades from other European plants.
