Despite "very positive" sales development, margins of German plastics converters are being squeezed by soaring polymer prices, warns the industry association Gesamtverband Kunststoffverarbeitende Industrie (GKV, Bad Homburg / Germany; www.gkv.de). The record notations and the increasingly faster upward spiral of prices preventing converters from passing on their higher costs in a timely manner are a major problem as are the current supply shortages for engineering thermoplastics, the association adds.
