Plastics imports still high/Producers invest in new facilities/Output continues to lag demand

Poland still consumes far less polymer than most of the EU,but this is growing.In view of the low consumption level and the market's growth potential,the country's demand for plastics is expected to rise far faster than the EU average.To satisfy mounting demand from converters,the plastics industry is investing heavily in new facilities.However,even the new plants will not alleviate the supply shortage immediately,and plastics prices are rising significantly,according to the Polish chemical industry association Polska Izba Przemyslu Chemicznego.
