More than two-thirds of the German-speaking plastics industry improved business further in the second half of 2006 -following an already strong first half- and the outlook for the first six months of 2007 is extremely positive.This was the surprisingly good news from the 12th economic performance survey conducted by P/E's sister publication,"Kunst-stoff Information"(KI,Bad Homburg /Germany;www.ki web.de)in January 2007.Some 69% of the 250 companies responding reported better business,up from 60% six months earlier.Only 6% said the situation had worsened.The upswing - the first of this magnitude seen in recent years - meanwhile has encompassed much of the industry.Resins producers led the "better business"list for H2 2006,with 80% improvement,followed by machinery manufacturers and converters with around 75%.The consulting and research segments also saw an upturn.,
