At the end of the long month of June 2008,standard thermoplastics prices in western Europe were significantly higher.Rises of up to EUR 80/t for EPS and EUR 75/t for PS reflected the higher contract price for styrene monomer,the increases of up to EUR 70/t for LDPE and LLDPE tighter supplies.HDPE and PP,better in balance,saw hikes of up to EUR 40/t.S-PVC's gain of up to EUR 20/t was due to improved orders from the building sector.EVA was flat at the May level.Prices for PET rose by EUR 35/t on average in June.Lower end buyers were brought into line and paid up to EUR 60/t more.
