Using the car's door-inner panel as a flat panel speaker will cut weight and slash costs, according to Owens Corning's Michael Kuhn. Other companies are developing flat-panel speakers, but the unique OC advantage is that the speaker will be molded as an integral section of the door inner for even greater parts consolidation and cost reduction.
