New 'teflon G' is tougher and more temperature-resistant

Extrusion processable, the improved DuPont polymer looks good for wire and cable insulation, heat-shrink tubing, and industrial film. Toughness of the Teflon G is illustrated by impact strength of 4.6 kJ/m at 100 deg C (212 deg F), compared to 1.7 kJ/m for conventional FEP. Tensile strength is above 17.2 MPa (2500 psi) at 150 deg C (302 deg F). Flex life is 170,000 cycles, as compared to 58,000 for FEP.
