This recycling method will become increasingly important as PET-bottled water and beer are increasingly consumed at sports events. Using the post-game pick method, the normal cleaning crew is trained to first go through the arena picking up bottles and cans. A second sweep through the stadium is then made to pick up the remaining trash. Stadium managers tend to resist this method, expecting that it will double their trash removal costs. However, since the bottle/can pick-up sweep removes about 50% of the waste, the two sweeps take little more time than one conventional sweep.
