US chemical giant DuPont (Wilmington, Delaware; www. dupont.com) has announced plans to streamline its corporate organisation. The plan-which contains no details on how the new strategy will affect manufacturing of plastics or any other products-also entails realignment of group divisions and a shifting of managerial responsibilities. CEO Ellen Kullman said the reshaping is needed for DuPont to "strengthen its alignment with customers and markets, drive disciplined scientific innovation directly from market needs, increase transparency and accountability and continue its intense focus on productivity."
