First talks on possible PET merger with Indorama/Result still open/Analysts seem sceptical

PET manufacturer La Seda de Barcelona(Barcelona/Spain;www.laseda.es)has confirmed rumours of merger negotiations that could result in a massive deal with the expanding Asian petrochemicals group Indorama(Bangkok/Thailand;www.indorama.com).In a report submitted to the Spanish stock market commission Comision Nacional del Mercado de Valores(CNMV)on 24 July 2008,La Seda's president Rafael Espafiol explained that"contact has been made with Indorama regarding possible integration."He said the talks were still"at a very early stage,"emphasising that it was not yet possible to say whether the transaction would materialise.
