Details of second restructuring phase revealed/More rigid packaging operations to be closed

Packaging group Huhtamaki (FIN-02100 Espoo;www.huh tamaki.com) has revealed details of the second phase of its two-year restructuring programme,originally launched in December 2004 (see PIE 01,2005).Following the previously announced closure of the Gottingen/Germany plant by mid-2006,Huhtamaki will relocate the production of plastic and paperboard packaging partly to Siemianowice/Poland,and partly to Nules/Spain.Gottingen's remaining release paper operations will be transferred to forchheim/germany by mid 2007,after which the facility will be shut down completely.
