Meeting its planned start-up date of early 2010, Borouge (Abu Dhabi / United Arab Emirates; www.borouge.com) has brought on stream its new olefin plant in Ruwais (UAE). Speaking at a recent press conference, operative business manager Roy Vardheim said it would take between 12-18 months for the world's largest cracker to reach full capacity. "Borouge II" will triple existing capacity of Borouge's petrochemical complex in Ruwais to 2m t/y of PE and PP.
