Engineering Thermoplastics in April 2010: Notations skyrocket across the board/Several triple-digit hikes/Supply situation increasingly tight/Lively demand/Sharp increases expected to dominate the picture in May

In April, the wave of cost increases from the unstable petrochemicals sector swept over European engineering thermoplastic notations, as had been widely expected. Prices are rising steeply over a broad front. Leading the ascent with hikes of up to EUR 250/t is PA 6.6, which is extremely short at the moment. ABS, PC, PA 6 and POM also recorded triple-digit rises. Only PBT, PMMA and PP compounds remained below the EUR 100/t mark, with hikes of up to EUR 75/t.
