Despite their difference in size, China and Vietnam have a lot in common. Both have been reporting annual economic growth above 8% for several years, and both have a demand for plastics greater than almost anywhere else. The two Asian nations also share the problem that the volume of plastics produced in their own country is nowhere near able to meet the demand, requiring large import volumes. But while China has made considerable progress in recent years, Vietnam is still at the early development stage.
