In line with previous research findings,a study of metalworking fluid exposures at four sites found that recommended limits were exceeded about 38 percent of the time,according to an article in the February issue of the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Hygiene.The study,"An Evaluation of Analytical Methods,Air Sampling Techniques,and Airborne Occupational Exposure of Metalworking Fluids," aimed to assess and validate analytical methods used in North America; assess methods of air sampling; collect airborne exposure data at four Ontario,Canada,plants for comparison with occupational exposure limits; and compare the Ontario data to data reported elsewhere.
