EPA Plans Consultations,Peer Reviews For Nanotechnologies Stewardship Program

The Environmental Protection Agency is planning a variety of scientific consultations and peer reviews to help it develop a stewardship program for nano-engineered chemicals,a senior agency official said March 13.Jim Willis,director of EPA's Chemical Control Division,briefed the Forum on State and Tribal Toxics Action (FOSTTA),on efforts the agency is taking to develop a program to manage new and existing chemicals made with nanotechnologies.FOSTTA works with EPA's Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics to share information on chemicals and pollution prevention strategies and to address issues of interest to tribes.
