Amana's "No-Melt" blades are produced with German virgin steel and their exclusive grade of carbide and offer extra large European carbide tips for long life. Time tested geometry for plastic cutting; i.e. a 2° negative hook and a modified triple chip top grind, provide the optimum angle of cut. They also have virtually no runout ( + /-3/1000"), which is side-to-side blade "drift", reducing friction. These 3 elements ensure that only the exact cutting edge of the blade will address the material; keeping unwanted heat to a minimum and eliminating the "chip welding" that can occur with lesser grade tooling.
