摘要

Expression of wheat germ agglutinin (WGA) gene in the developing embryos of wheat (Triticum aestivum L. cv. C-306) was studied in relation to abscisic acid (ABA) accumulation under water stress conditions. Imposition of water stress resulted in elevated ABA levels in the embryos at three developmental stages (18, 24 and 30 DPA). On the contrary, the effect of drought stress on WGA accumulation was stage dependent with significant increase in WGA content being observed at only 24 DPA. Our results suggest that apart from ABA, other factors which are temporally expressed, are also involved in regulation of WGA gene expression. [References: 28]
