EU Council of Ministers Approves PFOS Ban With Exceptions for Some Specialized Uses

BRUSSELS-The EU Council of Ministers Dec.11 approved a measure that will ban most perfluo-rooctane sulfonate (PFOS) compounds in the European Union starting in summer 2008.Final approval by the EU Council,which directly represents EU member state governments,follows a vote on the legislation in the European Parliament Oct.25 (30 CRR 1109,10/30/06).
