A sample of 33 Spanish landraces of barley (Hordeum vulgare L) was analyzed to determine the relationship between 17 agro/morphological traits, 17 endosperm protein bands and the geographical parameters at the collecting site: latitude, longitude andaltitude. The agro/morphological characters, days to heading and to maturity, and plant height showed the highest correlation with the geographical parameters. Phenotypic associations for some endosperm proteins and altitude were also detected. However,obvious geographical patterns were not found for some characters such as growth habit, spike density and tillering capacity. The geographical parameter that had the most correlation with the agro/morphological traits was the longitude at the collecting site.
