Senate Panel Approves Safety Board Nominees

The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Sept.13 unanimously approved the nominations of William B.Wark and William E.Wright to serve five-year terms on the U.S.Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board.The nominees would fill vacancies that have been open for more than a year-and-a-half.The two nominees now await full Senate confirmation.In June,President Bush nominated Wark,executive vice president for LGH Inc.,a human resources consulting firm in Virginia,and Wright,chairman of the Department of Defense Explosives Safety Board((30 CRR 673,6/26/06)).
