Dow shuts Argentina plants for upkeep on gas shortages

Buenos Aires-Dow Chemical has shut down part of its ethylene and polyethylene operations in Argentina for maintenance as natural gas shortages slow production,a company source said July 1."We have been operating at 50% of capacity for the past three weeks because of low gas supplies,"the source at Buenos Aires-based Dow Quimica Argentina said.
