Qatar explores supplying LPG to proposed ExxonMobil JV cracker

Singapore-Qatar Petroleum is exploring the possibility of supplying liquified petroleum gas to a proposed 3-billion ethane cracker and petrochemical complex that it has agreed to jointly build with ExxonMobil in Ras Laffan,a company source said June 4.The proposed cracker,which would have an ethylene capacity of 1.3 million mt/year,will primarily use ethane,but it may be able to switch up to 45% of its feedstock to LPG,mainly butane,the source said.
