Celanese declares FM on acetic acid at Clear Lake,Texas

Houston,London-US-based Celanese has suffered an unplanned outage and declared force majeure at its 1.2 million mt/year acetic acid facility at Clear Lake,Texas,the company announced in a statement May 14.Details on the cause of the outage were unavailable at presstime however a source close to operations said that Celanese was working with its customers to minimize the impact of the halt in production.
