BRUSSELS-European Union member state environment ministers Dec.18 gave final approval to comprehensive chemical rules known as REACH,paving the way for the legislation to come into force starting June 1,2007.The approval brings to a close three years of work to draft and revise the legislation.The European Parliament voted to approve the latest version of REACH,which stands for Registration,Evaluation,and Authorization of Chemicals,Dec.13 (30 CRR 1301,12/18/06).
