Mexico City-Mexico's state-owned Pemex said it has invited bids for the modernization of aromatics production at its La Cangrejera complex in the southern Gulf state of Veracruz. The project, which is due to come on stream in 2012, will improve the efficiency of the reformation of naphthas in its first stage and double production of paraxylene in the second stage, Pemex said over the weekend. Last year, Pemex produced 187,000 mt of paraxylene.
