Russia's Sibur plans new PE plant in Astrakhan,doubling 2008 capex

London-Russia's Sibur plans to construct a new polyethylene complex with a capacity of between 450,000-500,000 mt/year,in the Astrakhan Region,located in the Caspian Lowlands of southwestern Russia,the company announced January 25.The company plans to spend Rb236 million (9.6 million) to performfront and engineering design,with the ethylene raw material to be sourced from Astrakhangazprom LLC.Sibur and Astrakhangazprom are part of Russian energy giant,Gazprom.
