EPA Proposes Changes to Risk Measures For Dimethoate Outlined in Interim Decision

The Environmental Protection Agency intends to modify certain risk mitigation measures that were imposed as a result of its 2006 interim reregistra-tion eligibility decision (IRED) for the pesticide dimethoate,the agency announced in a Federal Register notice Feb.28 (72 Fed.Reg.8986).EPA said commenters on the dimethoate IRED asked for certain modifications,including replacing the maximum number of applications of the pesticide per season with a maximum seasonal application rate.Commenters also asked for increased seasonal application rates for peppers and cherries,the agency said.
