Japan's Shin-Etsu Chemical posts 27% rise in profit in Apr-Dec

Tokyo-Japan's Shin-Etsu Chemical posted a consolidated net profit of Yen 143.3 billion (1.34 billion) for the first nine months of the current fiscal year (April 2007-March 2008),up 26.7% from a year earlier on the back of strong overseas sales of PVC,the company said January 16.Strong silicone sales also boosted the company's profit.Shin-Etsu's total operating profit rose 18.5% to Yen 213.5 billion,while its revenue came in at Yen 1.0 trillion,up 7.4% year on year.
