London-The European Commission has welcomed the Council's political agreement on a comprehensive new system aimed at ensuring greater safety in the manufacture and use of chemical substances,the EC said in a statement Dec 13.The new system,REACH,or Registration,Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals,will establish an integrated system for the registration,evaluation,authorization and restriction of chemicals.
