Singapore-Iran should develop its petrochemical sector to improve the national economy and boost competition in the energy sector,President Mohammad Khatami said Jul 26 in Tehran at the annual general assembly of Iran's National Petrochemical Co,according to local newspaper Iran Daily.Khatami said Iran's economic development plans should pay more attention to downstream oil industries,as the petrochemical sector would help create jobs for educated people.
