London-French polyvinyl chloride producer Arkema declared force majeure Oct 5 on PVC supplies from its facilities at St Fons and Balan,France,due to a strike at Marseille port.Failed talks between port workers and the management have prevented the movement of vinyl chloride monomer from Lavera terminal by barge.
