London-The world's largest chemicals company,BASF,said it is confident it would complete the purchase of Switzerland-based chemicals business Ciba.It follows the decision of the Swiss Takeover Board to reject a request to extend the period for BASF's offer to buy the rival company."We welcome this decision and are very confident that more than the minimum requirement of 66.67% of shares will be tendered by the end of the offer period(on October 28),"BASF spokesman Michael Grabicki said in a statement October 16.
