Jiangsu to close 2,150 chem plants by 2008 in anti-pollution drive

A total of 2150 small-sized petrochemical plants in east China's Jiangsu Province are to be shut down permanently by the end of 2008,as part of government efforts to curtail pollution,said Li Yuanchao,Secretary of the Jiangsu Committee of the Communist Party,in a recent speech.
