Borealis ups Q3 net income by 116%;faces challenge of high costs

London-Austria-based polymer producer Borealis announced net profit after tax of Eur225 million(330 million)for the third quarter of 2007,up 116% from Eurl04 million versus the same period last year,according to a company release November 12.The net income includes a once-off gain of Eurl05 million related to the sale of Borealis' Norwegian polyolefins operations and share in the Noretyl cracker to Ineos.
