US January spot PP values hemmed by finished goods,resin inventories

Houston-An early January rally in spot US polypropylene prices appears to have lost some traction as converters grapple with heftier manufactured goods inventories and shun large-volume resin purchases,market sources said Jan 12.Buyers were expected to remain out of the market until they can clear out some of the manufactured goods they have on hand and covert current resin stocks,and until US PP contract prices begin to settle,sources said.Increased stockpiles also were reported in Latin markets that buy US polyolefin resins.
