RAG announces intentions for complete takeover of Germany's Degussa

Houston-Germany's Degussa said Dec 19 that German energy and mining group RAG intends to acquire all remaining shares in Degussa.RAG holds a 50.1% interest in Degussa AG through its wholly owned subsidiary RAG Projektgesellschaft mbH (RPG).Effective Jul 1,2006,RAG and energy giant E.ON AG agreed on the divestment of the 42.86% of Degussa's capital stock held by E.ON to RPG,according to a basic agreement signed Dec 19.
