Oxy to expand newly acquired Vulcan chlorosolv business,dispels rumors

Houston-US-based vinyls and chlor-alkali producer,Oxy,is looking to expand the chlorinated solvent business it recently purchased from Vulcan,Oxy's Executive Vice President Chuck Anderson told Platts,Jul 19.Anderson's comments contradict some rumors in the market that Oxy would not continue the Vulcan chlorosolvents business.Some market watchers suggested that Oxy may chose to close this business because it had shut its own chlorosolvents business years ago.However,Anderson said that the Vulcan chlorosolvent assets are better positioned in the market than Oxy's old assets were.
