A new way to make compsite links with metal fittings

For suspension links, pultruded composites provide the required strength at a much lower weight than metal. However, metal is still needed for the fittings on each end of the link. In the mid-1990s, Delphi Automotive brought the two divergent materials together with a technology that cast molten metal directly to the composite.
