DaimlerChrysler is switching from steel to PPS for fuel rails

The company chooses Ticona's 'Fortron' 1140L. 4 grade polyphenylene sulfide for its fuel rail conversion on the 2.7-liter V-6 engines in its 2001 MYLH series cars (Intrepid and Concorde) and JR series cars (Stratus and Sebring). The part is 26.7 cm (10.5 in) long, 1.3 cm (0.5 in) in diameter, and has 2.5 mm (0.10 in) walls. Each D-shaped rail feeds fuel to three cylinders.
