Two companies recently came out with new injection machine shut-off nozzles. Herzog Injection Technology Inc., Essex, Mass., has a new series of spring-loaded needle-valve nozzles for micromolding with screws of 10 to 18 mm diam. Pressure of 180 bar (2600 psi) opens the nozzle, which is held closed by dual springs outside the melt channel.
