New material options for FDM (fused-deposition modeling) rapid prototyping and direc digital manufacturing systems are available from Stratasys, Inc., Minneapolis. PC and PC/ABS are now available for the FDM 360mc, while translucent ABS and pharmaceutical-grade (USP Class VI) PC are new options for the FDM 400mc. The expanded product slate is said to offer users access to stronger, more flexible and higher- temperature materials.
