The first bottle-grade PET resins produced with a titanium catalyst reportedly enable higher filling temperatures,lower acetaldehyde levels for improved taste/odor,faster molding,and lightweighting opportunities.R&D director Jim Bruening at Wellman,Inc.,Shrewsbury,N.J.,believes that titanium could become the catalyst of choice industrywide.
