Three new polyethylene resins are designed for hose and tubing used for micro-irrigation in landscaping and agriculture.Dow Chemical's North American Plastics Business,Houston,developed the new Fingerprint PE resins to increase the performance of micro-irrigation systems and help reduce the amount of water lost to leakage.Further,the company has included a trace element in these resins that acts as a "fingerprint" marker,making it possible for manufacturers of micro-irrigation equipment to verify their identity as Dow PE resins in tube and drip tape years after installation.
